I had
car accident March 3rd 2005 on I95 in rush
hour traffic, rear ended really badly at full speed.
Tore tendons in wrist, fluid on hip, bulging discs in
lower back, sprained shoulder, and had mild concussion.
Greenwich hosp sent me to Othopedic neurosurgy in
Greenwich, I saw 4 diff docs there. Precribed percocets
and vicodans, and as a result of the side effects I fell
in the shower. I saw a hand specialist, orthopedist
sports med, acupuncture, trigger point injections and 3
epidurals. I had 7 MRIs. Saw neurologist for
concussion because I was having memory loss who did a
EKG and catscan, and some memory exercises. Then they
sent me to physical therapy 5 days/week. Massage
therapist, and hand therapist. And hydrotherapy twice a
week.
A
couple years later, even after diligently doing all the
physical therapy exercises, the pain was still constant
and daily. The hand improved but the back issues never
went away. Prior to my accident, never had any back
problems. My job is physical so there wasn’t a lot I
could do, and I had to turn down a lot of business
because I physically couldn’t do it. One day, when I
re-aggravated the injuries and was in horrible pain, a
friend insisted I go see Dr. Zembroski.
After
taking care of some immediate pain and the re-injury, Dr
Z did a full evaluation. I figured, I’m going to give
it a try since I’ve tried everything else. I had no
expectations whatever based on my previous experiences
with other health practitioners. Based on my
evaluation, Dr. Z was able to explain the actual cause
of my symptoms. He gave me some specific exercises to
do, and I received treatments in-office regularly. I
definitely have relief from a lot of the back pain.
There are some things that occasionally will trigger it,
but I definitely feel much better for the first time
since the accident 3 years ago.
After
having chronic pain for 3 years, with not a day of total
relief, this is a really big deal to have gotten these
results! I would say to anyone who’s thinking about it,
give it a try!
